“History is a daring enterprise whose practitioners work perpetually in areas of terrible uncertainty”
(overheard on ABC Radio National)

In 2006 ATEM celebrated its 30th Anniversary. Part of that was to make a start on gathering its history. On this page there are three set pieces available for download to the right, the first and the third by Maree Conway who is the Association historian. The second document is a more philosophical piece on the nature of ATEM and its mission by Giles Pickford.

Also available for download are some source documents from long ago.

As part of the 30th Anniversary celebrations, a number of members submitted their reflections and anecdotes about the early days of ATEM and  their ATEM experiences, and these are provided in this section.

The ATEM Archives are beautifully cared for by the Noel Butlin Archive of the Australian National University http://www.archives.anu.edu.au/nbac/html/index.php
