Heads of Student Administration Conference

The HoSA Conference 2016 will be held in Dunedin, New Zealand from Wednesday, 10 to Friday, 12 August 2016.

The universities of New Zealand are pleased to be hosting this year's conference, exploring the theme of:

"The only constant is change".

Everything is changing at pace: technology, deliverables, expectations and accountability. Working smarter, faster and more co-operatively, without jeopardising quality of service, will continue to challenge student administration providers in the years ahead.

Registration will include, for the delegate, full conference admission and attendance at the Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner. Some accommodation options are also given below.

Please note that as the Conference is held outside Australia no GST applies on registration fees.

Call for Contributions

The organising committee of the HoSA 2016 Conference advises that the Call for Contributions is now closed.

The organising committee welcomed contributions which address the conference theme. Some suggested topic areas included:

  • Changing student expectations and/or demographics and initiatives to meet these (including student-centred administrative approaches and the use of social media for marketing, recruitment and retention);
  • Managing change, including staff culture during times of change;
  • Broad trends in higher education (international, regional or national) and responses to these;
  • Digitalisation of processes and organisational changes arising from this;
  • Initiatives designed to increase efficiency and/or service levels (e.g. shared services);
  • The use of 'big data' and other analytics in the university setting;
  • Evaluation of initiatives two to five years after implementation (this may include follow up on initiatives previously discussed at HoSA conferences).
