AOTEAROA SYMPOSIUM 2011
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT IN THE TERTIARY EDUCATION SECTOR - LESSONS FROM CHRISTCHURCH

There will be a number of speakers from different areas of the three main tertiary education institutions in Christchurch together with other involved in the response to the Christchurch earthquakes.
Superintendent Bruce Dunstan, Commander, National Tactical Group, Operations Group, Police National Headquarters will participate on Day 1 and will be joined by staff from the Joint Centre for Disaster Research, Massey University, Wellington for the Workshop on Day 2.
The first day of the Symposium comprises, in the main, speakers from the three main tertiary education institutions in Christchurch and others, who will discuss various aspects of reactions to the Christchurch earthquakes, in particular the events of 22 February this year.
On the second day there will be a Workshop where participants will be assist through the steps that can be taken to develop an emergency response plan for their own institution.
