Description

This 3 day/3 night residential Leadership Masterclass sets an ambitious agenda to test leadership literacies for the knowledge era, think in the future tense and give senior leaders much needed space for personal reflection and renewal to think deeply about their purpose and pathways to excellence.

DATES

The course begins with dinner on the evening of Monday, 6 September and ends with lunch on Thursday, 9 September.

KEY THEMES

Values | Vision | Valour

Presented by Deborah Nanschild (www.leadershipexcellence.com.au)

Day 1 is a values journey workshop, focusing on:

  • personal values articulation and your individual profile,
  • alignment of personal values with organisational values,
  • a model to understand and discuss different values held amongst people in the workplace,
  • case study examples of how values understanding impacts on influence and agency,
  • Window on Work Values activity.

Focus | inFluence | Futures

Presented by Maree Conway (www.thinkingfutures.net)

Day 2 is based on the premise that the shape of our future is based on the quality of leadership today. Using an integral approach, it explores four sets of responsibilities required for effective 21st century leadership:

  • responsibility for self (understanding your purpose)
  • responsibility for others (leadership of people and organisations)
  • responsibility for future generations (leadership for sustainability)
  • responsibility to be futures focused (leading from a future view)

Focus in provided by responsibility for self, influence underpins leadership of people, and the future view is informed by accepting responsibility for future generations and building a future view for you and your work.

Combing theory and practical exercise, this day explores how to integrate a longer term view into leadership today.

Engage | Empower | Enlighten

Presented by Heather Davis (www.waypoint.com.au)

Day 3 brings participants back to the present by integrating the values and futures focus of the previous days with a discussion about effective leadership in the tertiary education sector. This session will outline just what Leadership Literacies for the knowledge era are and discuss in detail deep impact learning, thinking and creativity.

Reflect | Recharge | Renew

This theme will be evident throughout the three days with activities that focus on the emotional health and wellbeing of all participants. Planned activities include guided physical activities and space to encourage reflection, renewal and the opportunity to recharge the mind and body.
