ATEM collects personal information from members to maintain a membership database. We use the information in the database to communicate with members about programs and activities, and to provide information about relevant programs offered by other organisations.
We also use members' personal information to produce a Network Directory which is published electronically on the ATEM website: www.atem.org.au. Members can indicate that they do not wish to be included in the Network Directory by ticking the appropriate box on the Membership Renewal Form, or by advising the ATEM Secretariat at any time.
ATEM will collect personal information from members applying for grants and scholarships. Only the ATEM Awards Committee has access to this personal information. This information is held until the end of each selection process and is then destroyed by shredding.
ATEM will, from time to time, produce reports on the characteristics of its membership. These reports will use only aggregated data and will contain no personal information.
We do not release members' personal information to other organisations or individuals, unless with a member's express permission.
Members can update their personal information at any time by logging into the Members Only section on the ATEM website.
Records of members who have not continued their membership are deleted from our membership database 12 months after the last membership subscription was received. Hard copies of transactions such as membership and membership renewal are held for 12 months and then destroyed by shredding.
