This half day program is ideal for staff from any area of a University who are interested in learning more about financial management in Universities.  This program is ideal for staff with little or no experience in financial management and are keen to explore this area further.  The program will include but is not limited to:

 
·         Basic accounting language and concepts
·         Financial reporting periods
·         Accounting for accrued and pre-paid items
·         Goods and Services Tax (GST)
·         Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
·         Business Activity Statement (BAS) essentials 
·         Analysis and interpretation of financial statements
·         Forecasting
 
There will be practical examples to challenge participants and course content which will form the basis of a wider understanding of the financial matters they may come across in the future.
