Each year ATEM offers opportunities for networking and in 2012 we invite you to become part of a group of people who are unique in tertiary education: Faculty General Managers.

As Faculty General Managers, you are in a position of great authority and uniquely placed in your university or TAFE College. You need to be across a myriad of issues and circumstances.

ATEM is looking to form a special interest group of people who will liaise regularly in order to enhance their positions and to keep on top of best practice in this area.

This symposium aims to bring as many active Faculty General Managers (or those in equivalent roles) together in one place to discuss the issues that matter most to your job.

This networking and professional development activity will allow you to share best practice with your colleagues in other universities and colleges. It will be deliberately non prescriptive, allowing you and your colleagues to talk about challenges faced by the role and solutions to these challenges.

ATEM would like this to become a yearly event whereby Faculty General Managers (FGM) network with each other on a regular basis. ATEM feels it can provide this service, with a competent facilitator to make sure it is a worthwhile exercise.

By way of follow up the group will be able to continue to communicate through the ATEM special interest groups site and will also be available to continue discussions after we close.
